The piston head is made of a structural plastic TECAFORM also known as POM on the CNC machine. Nine holes are drilled on the front side.The air stream flows through these holes during compression thus expanding the O-ring which provides for better sealing of the space between the piston head and the cylinder.

The centre of the piston head is passed through by the lock nut, which spreads the clamping force over a larger area and therefore prevents breakage of the bolt from the body of the piston head.

This piston head also incorporates an axial ball bearing.
