How To Choose And How To Take Care Of Airsoft Glasses?

In order to get the most out of an airsoft match, you need to properly protect yourself. The eyes, above all, are very sensitive and their proper protection plays a key role in any airsoft game. In today's article we will focus on choosing airsoft glasses and how to properly take care of them afterwards.

How To Choose Airsoft Glasses

Let's take a look at what airsoft glasses are available. You can choose either a cheaper variant of glasses with a simple construction, which look very similar to glasses for other types of sports or safety glasses, such as when working with a chainsaw. Such glasses are light, foldable and, thanks to the protective layer, perfectly cover the eyes, for example, against twigs, flying stones, etc. Thanks to their universal appearance, you can use them for other types of sports as well. In case of these cheaper options, one needs to take into account that they do not protect wearer´s eyes completely in case the ball hits you from the front - the paint can into the eyes easily get through the gaps and cause discomfort.

Slightly more expensive, but safer, are airsoft goggles, which protect the shooter´s eyesight perfectly, as they are pressed firmly against the skin. Their other advantages are described in the name itself - you can attach them to your helmet, saving space in your pockets. They look similar to most ski goggles.

Anti-fog function is an important parameter of these glasses, ensuring that the glasses do not get foggy when you change the environment, leading to significantly reduced visibility. It is also advisable to look at whether the glasses come with a clear, yellow or smoky lens. Some improve visibility or protection from the harsh sun. The most more expensive goggles offer all three variants of glasses, which can be exchange as needed.

Do not underestimate the maintenance

In order for your airsoft goggles to stay clean and unscraped for as long as possible, you need to take a simple but much needed care. Using these few principles, you will significantly extend their lifetime and see through them like an eagle.

If you do not have the goggles on your nose or helmet, always store them in a quality case. It sounds like a banality, but keeping glasses in a pocket or hooked by a T-shirt, will soon be noticable. One does not even notice how many times glasses will be stretched in between the branches or fall to the ground. Your glasses will then be scratched in no time.

When cleaning, forget wiping the glasses with a sweaty T-shirt or sweatshirt - leading to unnecessarily rubbing with a coarse particles and dust attached to your clothes. Wash the glasses under running water to remove dust and dirt. Once washed clean, use soap solution, rinse again, let the largest drops fall and then carefully wipe them dry with a soft cloth for optics.

If you do not have glasses specially treated at the factory to prevent fogging, you can also invest in suitable anti-fogging agents and sprays, which can usually be obtained in any optics.

Now that you know what glasses to choose and how to take good care of them, you can go shopping! And if you are still unsure which ones to choose, contact us and we will be happy to advise you.
