How to choose an Airsoft gun?

Are you just getting started with airsoft? Do not underestimate the choice of weapon - it is important to choose exactly the type that will suit you best. You don’t want to get rid of your gun after a few weeks just because you didn’t take the time to choose thoroughly. Which criteria should you follow?

Airsoft guns are unrecognizably similar to conventional guns - except that instead of live bullets, you shoot plastic balls. They can be electric, gas (powered by CO2), or manual - the principle of their operation is similar in all three cases. But which type is ideal for you?

What is most important when choosing?

First of all, you should be clear about how often you intend to use the gun and how long you want to be involved in this sport. Do you intend to shoot at the target alone or participate in a team action game?

Equally important is the price level at which your future weapon should be. Do you want a perfect replica of the World War II Sturmgewehr 44, the world’s first ever assault rifle, or will you settle for a simple manual pistol? Anyone who places emphasis on the details must count on the fact that their wallet will take a hit.

However, if you’re excited about airsoft only because your friends are into it, the hold back. Find out first if this sport really appeals to you and if the reality matches your ideas. Otherwise, there is no point in unnecessarily buying something that you will sell again in the bazaar in the near future.

Guns for beginners

Long guns are usually recommended for beginners because they are easy to handle. Like, for example, a manual rifle that you can get for a relatively low price. But again, it depends on your intentions - a long and accurate weapon pays off in the open in a team match. In confined spaces, a short gun will be more practical.

Manual, electric, or gas?

Are you going to participate in a team game? If you choose a manual weapon, you may find yourself at a disadvantage - especially if your opponents have electric or gas weapons.

Electric weapons are among the most powerful, but they are also more expensive. Although they are also suitable for beginners, there is no point in getting them if you do not want to devote yourself to airsoft for a long time.

The best gaming weapon - which one is it?

In general, it can be said that gas guns give you the most realistic experience. They are very accurate but require more maintenance. Therefore, they are recommended for more experienced players.

Once you’ve chosen your weapon, don’t forget about protective and tactical equipment - protective glasses, and camouflage, thanks to which you can easily blend in with the surrounding environment and hide better from the eyes of the enemy.
