How do airsoft guns work?
Airsoft guns are becoming more and more popular and are appearing on the market in different models and sizes to suit the needs and tastes of every player. However, most people have no idea how these weapons work. It's time to change that.
As you probably already know, airsoft guns are designed to mimic real guns, but they use small plastic balls instead of real bullets. They are generally powered by one of three basic methods: spring, electricity, or compressed gas. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, which are reflected in the price of the weapon, its effectiveness and the ability to simulate real shootings.
The principle of spring airsoft guns
Spring loaded airsoft guns are the simplest and cheapest type of airsoft gun on the market. As the name suggests, these guns use a spring to launch the projectile. The player must manually cock it before each shot, which compresses and releases air, which then shoots a plastic pellet out of the barrel of the gun.
This method is reliable, but its main disadvantage is that it does not allow automatic or semi-automatic fire. Spring guns are generally suitable for beginners who are new to airsoft.
Electric airsoft guns
Electric airsoft guns, sometimes referred to as AEG (Automatic Electric Gun), are powered by an electric motor and battery. This system allows users to shoot plastic balls automatically or semi-automatically. The internal mechanism of an electric airsoft gun is more complex than that of a spring gun. The electric motor rotates the gears, which stretch the spring and compress the piston. Once the piston is at the end of its travel, the spring releases and expels the air that fires the ball.
Gas airsoft guns
Gas airsoft guns, sometimes referred to as GBB (Gas Blow-Back), are another popular type of airsoft gun. These weapons use compressed gas that is stored in a magazine or in cartridges. They are the most malfunctioning of all types of airsoft guns and susceptible to weather.
The mechanism of gas weapons is also more complex. The compressed gas is released when the player pulls the trigger, pushing the plastic pellet out of the barrel. In addition, some gas guns include a recoil system that provides a more realistic shooting experience.
Whatever type of airsoft gun you decide on, it's important to learn about it and choose the one that best suits your needs and play style. We will be happy to advise you on the selection.
