What is the best way to camouflage yourself in nature?

The ability to camouflage yourself well in nature should be among the basic skills of any good fighter. Good camouflage can go a long way to the success of an entire mission and should apply to the entire unit. In this article, find out about the camouflage options to perfectly blend in with the surrounding nature.

Avoid mistakes

In order to have a good understanding of the correct camouflage, it is necessary to first know all the indicators of how to avoid detection. The most common mistakes that could give you away include inappropriate camouflage, disrupting wildlife, poor movement, and disturbing sounds or smells. However, at the same time, it is good to learn how you can use these indicators to detect your opponent.

How to choose the right camouflage colors

The right choice of camouflage colors is key. Therefore, it is necessary to know what environment you will be in (dark coniferous forest, light mixed forest, neutral built-up area, white snow) and based on this to chose the right colors of your camouflage. In our landscape across the four seasons, green, brown and beige predominate, and in winter, white. On the contrary, black should be completely avoided in nature! Paradoxically, it is the most striking color, even at night, as a figure dressed in black always has a clearly visible silhouette.

Sounds and smells - both can give you away

There is often great silence in nature and you can hear every snap of a twig under your footsteps. Therefore, avoid unnecessary loud noises and hasty movements. You should have clearly defined non-verbal cues between your teammates to successfully communicate as quietly as possible. Smell plays an equally important role - so before leaving for a mission, avoid using any strongly perfumed products.

Strategic shade

Last but not least, use the movement of the sun and remember that shade is your best strategic friend. In direct sunlight, weapons or other equipment can reflect and you can easily be spotted due to the reflection. Therefore, whenever possible, seek shelter in shaded terrain. Among other things, the use of terrain irregularities such as ravines or ridges can be just as strategic.

Do not underestimate preparation and work on camouflage

Mastering the right camouflage techniques is the sign of a very well prepared player and team. In addition, revealing the enemy due to poor camouflage, or, on the contrary, conducting an ambush with a well-camouflaged unit, can have a great demoralizing effect on your opponent. So dont just rely on the deployment of snipers and work on your camouflage skills, which will help you enormously in successfully implementing your strategy.
